Boyle GAA Club club news

Pride of place this week goes to our McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors on their great win against Strokestown in the Senior Championship in Elphin on Saturday evening last. This victory means qualification for the County Quarter Final where it is anticipated that Padraig Pearses will be our opponents. It also means promotion to Section A of the Senior Championship for 2016. Congratulations to the panel and the management for their hard work throughout the season to date. We hope that there is much more to come. The Club extends its best wishes for speedy recoveries to the players who were injured in the game. The Seniors are also scheduled to play St Faithleachs in the final round of the O’Rourke Cup on Saturday evening next at 6.45pm in the Abbey Park.

A depleted Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra Junior team was defeated by Michael Glaveys in the Division 5 League in the Abbey Park on Sunday.
It has been a busy week for our U12 teams. The Division 1 team lost to Clan na Gael in Johnstown on Tuesday last, but they bounced back from that defeat to overcome Padraig Pearses in Woodmount on Sunday. The Division 4 team had a  very successful week with victories over Kilglass Gaels in the Abbey Park on Thursday and over Padraig Pearses (by 2 points) on Sunday in Woodmount.
The U12s will be in action in the Keenan Cup this Wednesday against St Croans in Enfield.
The James Lannon Motor Repairs U16s will play Western Gaels in the Division 1 Championship Semi Final in Abbey Park on Friday at 6.30pm.
