Boyle under 13’s win Feile final

A well drilled Boyle side won the Under 13 Féile Peil na nÓg Division 1 Final at Kilglass on Sunday.
The north Roscommon side were the quickest out of the blocks. Niall O’Donnell caused the ‘Gaels defence all sorts of problems.

The full forward registered 2-03 within the opening two minutes. Roscommon Gaels did get a point sandwiched in between further Boyle goals by Conor Kelly and Luke McGrath.

O’ Donnell scored the point of the match soon after he fired a free over with the outside of his boot from all of forty metres. David Duggan scored a point thereafter.

Boyle ‘Keeper Sean Garavan, saved the first of many as the Gaels thought they had got a three pointer of their own. A goal did come, right before the interval as Rory Carthy netted.

Half time: Boyle 5-08, Roscommon Gaels 1-02.

At the start of the second half, Garavan was called upon. Once again, he was equal to the task.

Roscommon Gaels tried to claw their way back into the match as they scored 1-04 in five minutes with the goal coming from Ryan Conlon.

Boyle wanted and got scores of their own. Daniel Casey, who defended tenaciously throughout, found Duggan whose weighted pass was caught by O’ Donnell who added to added to his tally once more.

Boyle Captain David Flanagan’s excellent performance was capped off a minute from time. He cut through the heart of the Gaels defence and buried the ball beyond the Goalkeeper to spark celebrations all round from the Boyle supporters and players.
