Boyle GAA club weekly update

Bloody Sunday Centenary Commemorations

There were many poignant events over the weekend at National level to mark 100 years since the Bloody Sunday killings at Croke park. Boyle GAA played their own small part by turning on the lights in the Abbey Park on Saturday evening to commemorate the event. Cuimhnímis orthu uilig.

Roscommon Ladies

Best of luck to the Roscommon Ladies, and in particular to our Boyle GAA representatives, who play Westmeath in the All Ireland Intermediate semi-final against Westmeath on Sunday 29th November at 1pm in Longford. The game will be streamed live on the LGFA Facebook page.

Condolences

Boyle GAA Club would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Marie O’Donnell (nee Galvin), and all the family, on the recent passing of her mother Mary, late of Cloonloughlin, Mount Talbot. May she rest in peace.

Results/Fixtures

There are no Boyle GAA club results/fixtures to report this week as GAA club games have been suspended until further notice. As per government and GAA guidelines, club non-contact training sessions are allowed for school aged children, provided they are in pods of 15 people or less.

U10 Boys

It was nice to see our U10 Boys receive new training tops sponsored by Gerard Sheerin and Peter Gavican in recognition of their hard work in what was a very unusual season. The lads adapted well to the safety measures required this year in light of Covid-19 and we hope to see them out on the pitch in action representing the club next season where they can show off all their hard work.

Last man/woman standing!

The competition was back in action this weekend with 179 still standing. Top of the leaderboard is Roch Hanmore. Keep an eye on our Facebook page later in the week where there will be an update once the current round of games play out.

Lotto

The draw was held online on Sunday night.
Numbers drawn were 5,14,20 and 23. There was no jackpot winner but Aaron Sharkey scooped €100 for matching 3 numbers. Well done Sharks! The jackpot rises to €6500 next week so give it a go online!
