New after schools programme

Be Active After School Activity Programme (ASAP) is now available to all primary schools in Roscommon from September 2015.

Be Active ASAP offers teacher training and a comprehensive resource folder of activities comprising of 30 weeks of session plans in Athletics, Dance, Games, Gymnastics and Outdoor and Adventure activities.

The programme is aimed at 1st and 2nd class pupils with parental involvement in the activities being a key driver to the success of the programme.

The programme is completely FREE of charge and can help your school achieve Active School Flag status.

Be Active ASAP is advising all schools in Roscommon to express your interest in the programme for the upcoming academic year 2015/2016 before September 18th 2015. It is intended that training for the programme will be scheduled for early October.

There are over 500 schools trained to deliver Be Active ASAP nationwide. This is the first year the programme will be offered in Roscommon.

Be Active ASAP is funded by the Health Promotion & Improvement Department of the HSE Dublin North East in association with the Irish Sports Council and St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra.
