Boyle artist’s exhibition opens in Roscommon
Sarah Searson, Director the Dock Arts Centre will officially open Boyle based artist Susan Mannion’s exhibition “Fading into another dusk” this coming Friday 29th November at 6pm in Roscommon Arts Centre.
In this exhibition, Susan, who is the recipient of the 2019 Roscommon Visual Artists Forum Award, combines her artistic practice with her archaeological knowledge and landscape reading abilities to create a new body of work as she draws upon the mythology of water sources in Ireland, the alchemy of copper enamelling and her love of wild swimming. She has created a large-scale enamel piece of seventy component parts to give the impression of a watery surface across the gallery wall space. Originally from Omagh, Susan is now currently based in Boyle in the west of Ireland where she is a print-maker and copper enamellist.
The exhibition, which features over 70 wall mounted enamels plaques and some enamelled vessels, continues until Friday 31st January 2020.
