While there has been visits to the local schools and houses this past week, the “Mission official ” commenced Saturday March 8th and continues to Sunday March 16th. The mission will be delivered by the Ceili Community and the theme will be “The Beatitudes”.

The programme includes morning Mass at 7.00 for early risers and evening devotions at 7.30. Local schools will be taking part on Saturday 8th March and Thursday 13th March.  A full programme which includes Schools, Choirs, Clergy & lay people is available at the Church. During the week prior to the mission visitation to homes and schools will take place

Ceili, who are facilitating the mission, is a community of priests, sisters and lay people. Their aim is to bring individuals and communities closer to God through programmes of Parish and school missions. The name Ceili speaks of companions, togetherness, hope and above all joy.  The missionaries will be hosted in local houses during the two weeks and will be “fed and watered” by a large group of volunteers at St Joseph’s Resource Centre.

Both Fr Gerry Hanly and Fr Donal Morris of St Joseph’s Church, invite parishioners to join the mission adding that it will cover topics and issues that are relevant, real and down to earth.  It will, they said, be an opportunity to be refreshed, renewed, encouraged and stimulated in our faith.
