Boyle Celtic U13 team began their season with a well deserved victory over Yeats United on Saturday morning.

Despite, the large margin of victory, the home side had a nightmare start. The Sligo town side, played some quick passing before number nine found the bottom corner in the opening minutes.

Boyle equalised midway through the half. Cathal McKeon’s long range effort found the back of the net.

The Boyle defence was tested throughout, however, Sean Duffy, Glen Murray, Mikey Carroll and Liam Callaghan were alert to every danger.

Goalkeeper Shane Healy saved a fizzing shot to keep the score at 1-1 at the break.

Half Time: Boyle Celtic 1, Yeats United 1.

‘Celtic began the second half brightly and their persistence was rewarded as Jude Richardson ran in behind the defence and found Shay Noone, who finished to the net.

Minutes later, a failed Yeats clearance came out to Cain Carty, who curled in a shot from the right wing.

Carty doubled his tally soon after as he once again scored from a tight angle.

Daniel Carroll got his name on the score sheet with a mazy run, before rounding the keeper to pile more misery on the visitors.
