Connacht win and loss for Boyle Celtic

It was a mixed weekend for Boyle Celtic teams on Connacht duty.

Congratulations to the U14’s on winning their Connacht Cup Quarter-Final game in Westport on a scoreline of Boyle Celtic 2 Westport 0.

The goals came from Callum Andrews and David Flanagan.

The Semi Final is scheduled for next Saturday March 24th at 2.30pm in Cleveragh Astro v Manorhamilton.

Boyle Celtic senior team failed to reach the TP Brennan Connacht Cup Semi-Final when beaten 2-1 by Galway City side Mervue United at Celtic Park in Boyle. The visitors took the lead with fifteen played, when a corner kick with the aid of a strong wind, was deflected to the Boyle net off a defender. The home side battled back and were level with thirty five played. Lochlainn Conboy headed a Ger McDermottroe corner kick to the net. Mervue restored their lead when Steve Larkin beat the Boyle keeper to a cross to score with fifteen left to play. Danny Browne and Michael Corrigan forced the Mervue keeper into making two good saves near the end but Mervue held on for a place against St Peter’s in the next round.
