€125,000 funding for ‘Woodenbridge Footpath Project’

There was one Boyle town project among the 22 that were awarded Active Travel funding of €3.2m at last Monday’s meeting of Roscommon County Council.

€125,000 has been awarded to Roscommon Co Co for the ‘Boyle Footpath Project on the Woodenbridge Road”.

In the general Boyle Municipal District, €100,000 has also been awarded for a ‘Footpath Link” in Cootehall, along with €125,000 for another ‘Footpath Project’ in Croghan.

The largest amount awarded was €600,000 for “Ballaghaderreen Town Development”.

The €3.2m awarded to Roscommon Co Co is part of a €289m announcement under the National Transport Authority (NTA).

The NTA oversees and allocates Active Travel funding to local authorities for the provision of walking and cycling (Active Travel) infrastructure in Ireland. The funding of €289 million in 2022 covers approximately 1,200 Active Travel projects nationwide.
