€600k for Roscommon water schemes

Politicians around the county are welcoming Roscommon’s allocation of €608,000 towards group water and sewerage schemes.

€300,000 of the amount received is to be used to take chemicals out of the water supply, which may be associated with cancer.

A total of €14.9m was allocated nationwide as part of the 2016 block and scheme-based grant allocations to local authorities.

In addition to the Roscommon allocation, neighbouring counties Leitrim received €239,000 and Sligo €191,000.
