Preliminary details have been announced for the Curlieu Wheelers organised “Lough Key Challenge” cycling sportive which will be held in Boyle on May 17th 2014.
The event will attract up to 200 cyclists from all over Ireland to Boyle for the 3 distance events, 20k, 60k and 120k for the more experienced competitors.
Routes are being finalised this week with the Lough Key circuit and the Curlew’s featuring strongly in the 120k spin.
A cycling festival weekend is on the cards with Roscommon town hosting the first stage finish of the An Post Ras the following day (18th) which will hopefully see many cyclist compete in Boyle on the Saturday and stay over to travel to Roscommon the following day.
