A five month old child has been killed in a road accident in Athlone.
A three year old and two adults in their twenties were in the single car collision at junction 12 to Roscommon.
The N6 road where the accident occurred has since reopened.
It is believed the car skidded on black ice.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact them at Athlone Garda Station.
