Ticket’s are selling fast for this year’s Night and Day Festival

With less than a month to go before the big weekend, tickets are selling fast for this year’s Night and Day Music Festival which once again takes place on the grounds of Lough Key Forest Park, Boyle from Friday May 29th to Sunday May 31st, straddling the June Bank Holiday weekend.

This year’s festival takes place a little earlier than in previous years. As a result, the event, now regarded as one of the country’s premier music festivals, is one of the first outdoor festivals to be held in the country, kick-starting a much-anticipated summer of music.

Now in its fifth year, the festival has become a permanent fixture on the outdoor festival scene, attracting top class acts and a wide-ranging demographic, reflecting the rich array of music genres performing over the three days.

This year’s headline acts include The Saw Doctors, The Boomtown Rats, Hothouse Flowers, Paddy Casey, Soda Blonde, Jenny Greene as well as acclaimed international acts such as 80’s rockstars Big Country and Richard Thompson.

Family campsite and general campsite tickets are still available at €218 while campervan/caravan pitches retail at €60. Potential ticket buyers should note that pitches are unserviced and standard and are approximately ten minutes’ walk from the concert arena.

Friday access to the festival is priced at €80 while tickets for Saturday and Sunday performances are €110. Alas tickets for the general campsite, family campsite and family camping tickets are sold out.

Concert goers should note these tickets do not offer access to the campsite. All tickets are subject to a €2.50 booking fee. There are a limited number of children’s tickets still available for the festival for children aged under 14 years and under, priced at €10; however, children must be accompanied by an adult. Alas tickets for the luxury caravan pitch are completely sold out.

As the festival looms ever closer, Festival Promoter Craig Hughes is urging the public to purchase their tickets without delay to avoid disappointment. The good news however is that a limited number of ticketing options are still available.

“As a music festival, the Night and Day Festival is now firmly established in its own right on the summer festival circuit. This is reflected in the increased demand for tickets this year, which has surpassed even our own expectations.

“The reputation of our festival as a family friend and fun event, together with an excellent line-up, featuring a wide range of musical genres, means more people are putting Boyle on their list as an essential destination in their summer diaries.

“Another contributing factor has been the pleasant weather as potential festival goers look ahead to the big weekend! On the Saturday and Sunday last year, we enjoyed glorious weather, and this coupled with the beautiful location that is Lough Key, makes Night and Day the immensely popular event that it is,” reflects Craig.

Roscommon County Council are once again proud to be one of the main sponsors of this year’s festival. Chief Executive Shane Tiernan said the local authority was delighted to continue its association with the event:

“The Night and Day Festival has become one of the premier music festivals in the country and is now firmly established on the Irish music calendar. The festival has been a major tourism and economic boost to the county, bringing national and international visitors to our county. Together with Coillte, we are delighted to support the festival again this year”.

“While visiting Boyle and county Roscommon, festival goers also get the chance to see the many offerings we have as a tourism destination which is continuing to grow in popularity, thanks to its branding as Failte Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands”.

“Having visited myself last year, I witnessed at first hand the professionalism involved in staging an event of such ambition, featuring many top-class music acts. The festival is very family friendly and a celebration of international, national, and local artists”.

“For anyone who has yet to visit the Night and Day Festival, you are sure of a memorable experience,” Mr. Tiernan remarked.
