WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES IN BOYLE
Boyle will host a session of guided discussion and reflection on family life in preparation for the World Meeting of Families in Dublin in August. The three Boyle sessions will be held in St. Joseph’s Recourse Centre, on Thursday, 22ndFebruary and 1st March from 8 to 9.30pm. These sessions will be held in an informal and friendly atmosphere followed by a cup of tea/coffee. Everyone is invited to attend.
CASTLECOOTE HOUSE MYTHS & HISTORY
Castlecoote House is hosting a second series of Myth & History Series of talks. The next one will take place on Tuesday 22nd February this will be about The impact of the Hebrew language on Christianity by Kathy Nichols. Three act comedy “Cupid wore skirts” by Cloonacool Dramatic group is on this Friday 23rd February at 8pm, this will be a night of laughter and enjoyment. Ceili Friday will take place on Friday 9th March at 9.30pm, music by Duntally Ceili Band, refreshments will be served.

Fixtures have been released for 2018, upcoming highlights include the Spring League taking place over 3 weekends in February and the Captains Drive in on the 25th of February. Captains Terry Canning and Marie Hanmore-Cawley will get the 2018 golfing season off to its official start that day and welcome all members to join them.

ST PATRICK’S DAY PARADE
Following a well-attended and very successful meeting a committee was formed to organise this year’s St Patrick’s Day Parade. The good attendance was a reflection on the importance of the Parade to the town. With the energy and enthusiasm of the newly elected Committee, the future of the St Patrick’s Day Parade in Boyle is no longer in doubt. Boyle Chamber of Commerce and Boyle Town Team would like to wish every success to the new committee and look forward to a great day in Boyle. The parade will take place on St Patrick’s Day at 3.30 p.m. The newly elected committee are as follows: Joe Ryan (Chairperson), Maura Clarke, Eddie Creighton, Derek Dooley, Martin Downes, Lorcan Egan, Maire Egan Paul, Aileen Madden, Enda Madden, Dorothy Shannon and Keith Suffin.

The Spring/Summer brochure for Boyle Family Resource Centre is now available. The brochure details the many courses, programmes, groups and services available at the Centre to meet the needs of the community. Darkness into Light is an Annual 5k Walk/Run in aid of Pieta House. On Saturday the 12th of May a community will come together at St Joseph’s Hall and walk in support of positive mental health. This is a truly unique experience made by YOU. Family, friends and friends you haven’t met yet gathering in support of those who may be struggling or those we have lost. Together we stand together as a community and shine a beacon of light and hope. This will be Boyle’s second year to host the world wide event.
