Teresa wins President’s prize

 

There was a great turnout last Sunday for Moira Egan Lady Presidents Prize with over thirty ladies taking part. Congratulations to Teresa Ward who won her first major with a great score of 70. At the presentation Lady President Moira Egan congratulated Teresa and all the winners and thanked everyone who took part or helped to organise the day. She specially thanked Michael Rush, Charlie Beirne, John McGuinn & the course committee for the great condition of the course. She thanked Mary, Nicole, & Marian for the excellent food and Gary for looking after the bar and she thanked Liz Dwyer for her help to prepare the room. She finished with a special thanks to all the past members and members no longer playing golf for their great support for the club and she sent best wishes to all those in ill health. Prize-winner Teresa Ward thanked Moira for the lovely prizes and for a great day. She said she was delighted to win and thanked Moira for her great work at the club. She thanked her playing partners Tish Perry and Michelle Quinn for great support and also thanked all those who worked so hard to have the course looking so well. She finished with a special mention for Betty Martin who sadly passed away during the summer.

 

The full list of prize-winners was 1st Teresa Ward, 2nd Tish Perry, Gross Liz Dwyer, 3rd Regina McLoughlin, Categories 0-18, Peggy Feely, 19-26 Joey Mullaney, 27-36 Michelle Quinn, Past President Maura O’Farrell, 1st Nine Sandra McCrann, 2nd Nine Carmel Conlon, Beginner 1st Jacqueline Hanly, Beginner 2nd Catherine McDermott , Improver Cabrini Nolan. The prize to the Men was won by James Shivnan with 41pts, 2nd John McGuinn 40pts, Gross Adrian King, 3rd Charlie O’Donnell, Student 1st Gareth Gilmartin, 2nd Gary Carty.

Fridays Lady Presidents Scramble was won by Gerry Carty, Joyce Boles & Aisling Gaughran, 2nd Liam Mullaney, Criona O’Donnell & Paddy Nangle, 3rd Gary Carty, Cillian Doyle & Michael Costello. A special welcome back to Liam Mullaney who has been out for the past few months.

Pole forking of the greens will take place this Monday and Tuesday weather permitting, if anyone can spare some time it will be much appreciated

The Winter League entry sheet and details for the club outing to New Forest are on the noticeboard.

A meeting of the Mens, Ladies and Management Committees will take place this Wednesday evening in the clubhouse.
