LADY CAPTAINS DAY – The most important day of the year for the ladies section of the club is Lady Captains Day, which takes place next Sunday. This years Lady Captain is Michelle Quinn. As well as the main event itself (which will be in the usual 18 Hole Strokeplay format), there will be the Lady Captains Scramble on the Friday night, which is open to all club members, with and without a handicap. There will also be a Lady Beginners competition next Saturday. Presentation of prizes will be after the Lady Captains Dinner function on Sunday evening in the clubhouse.

CHALLENGE CUP – Well done to our Challenge Cup team captained by Bernie Kemple who put in a creditable performance. Well done to Strokestown Golf Club also on their successful hosting.

MIXED FOURSOMES – Best of luck to our Mixed Foursomes team who take on Strandhill Golf Club on Monday the 29th.

SIXES – Also in interclub golf, good luck to our Juniors who make the trip to Tubbercurry Golf Club for their first Sixes fixture of the year on Monday the 29th.

DUCK RACE – The fundraising committee express a huge thank you to everyone who bought ducks, sold ducks, volunteered on race day, and shared positive feedback for our inaugural duck race fundraiser.

The committee is absolutely delighted with the success of this fundraiser, the atmosphere was brilliant, the face painting and music adding to the vibe. The event was very well received by the community of Boyle and solidifies our intention to make the golf club more visible in the community and the game of golf available to all.

1003 ducks raced down the river with some deciding to take a short rest in the weirs, others deciding to swim further than intended. But, be assured that with nets and kayaks all ducks were retrieved and are currently resting up until training commences again in March 2027.

The winners were:

1st Leanne Connolly

2nd Josie Reid,

3rd Mick O,Dowd

4th Ronan Nerney

5th Gerard Mullaney
