BOYLE SHOPPING SPREE

WALKERS NEEDED

Walkers needed for a photo-shoot. A photo-shoot is taking place on the Miners Way and Historical Trail next Wednesday and Thursday the 30th and 31st October and people are needed to be included in them. All you have to do is turn up in your walking gear for the photos to look more authentic!
Wednesday –  10.00am: Boyle, meet in the grounds of King House. Photographs at the map board and MWHT signage in Boyle, Miners Way brochure – generic photos that can apply to the entire trail. Boyle Abbey: exterior of the site as it is closed. Lough Key Forest Park: Rockingham Gate Lodge, paths around Lough Key with views over Castle Island. 1pm: Arigna Mining Experience – the attraction itself, the views over Lough Allen and the walking paths leading to the Mining Experience. Thursday – 10.0am: Meet at Carrowkeel carpark – variety of photographs at the cairns and of the views over Lough Arrow and the Bricklieves. Finish 12pm

SISTER ACT TICKETS
With just four weeks to go until opening night, Boyle Musical Society is delighted to announce that tickets for its eagerly anticipated new show, ‘Sister Act’, will go on sale at 10am on Friday, November 1st. Tickets can be purchased from our Booking Office which is located once again at the Únabhán Craft Shop in the grounds of King House. The office will be open from 10am to 4pm every day, excluding Sundays. Please note that tickets will be available for all performances but there is no pre-booking of allocated seats for Wednesday’s show. A detailed seating plan will soon be available on www.boylemusicalsociety.com  Tickets can also be booked by telephone on 071 9663033. This line will be open during booking office hours only, every day excluding Sundays, until November 23rd. We accept credit card bookings. Tickets will also be available at the door of the Hall, each night.‘Sister Act’ will be staged in St. Joseph’s Hall, Boyle from Wednesday, November 20th to Saturday November 23rd and the performances will be at 8pm nightly. Tickets are priced at €18, with a special opening night concession of €15. €12 tickets will be available for children, students and senior citizens, for Wednesday and Thursday night’s performances. With music by Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater and songs like ‘Raise Your Voice’, ‘Take Me To Heaven’, ‘Sunday Morning Fever’ and ‘Do The Sacred Mass’, you can expect some serious hand clapping, uplifting, foot stomping, God fearing, Gospel and Soul! ‘Sister Act’ will be Boyle Musical Society’s 36th annual show and the local cast features 42 new and familiar faces. They have been rehearsing since early September and together with the production team and committee, they are confident that this show will be a spectacular and memorable musical treat for all the family, when it hits the stage in a few weeks time! DRAMA – TRUE FRIENDS
Three act play takes place in Tawnytaskin Community Centre on Friday 1st November, doors open at 7pm and play at 8pm. This will be a play not to be missed. Tickets €10 and seating is limited, so get your ticket ASAP. On sale in Adam’s Apple, Brendan McGee Jewellers, Una Bhan, Mary Nicholson and Ann McGlynn. At a cost of €10. ARDCARNE FAMILY CHRISTMAS
Ardcarne Garden Centre Boyle and Roscommon Town are holding their annual Family Christmas Weekend on Sat 9th and Sun 10th November. On Saturday 9th Nov from 1pm to 3pm there is complimentary mulled wine and nibbles, free face painting€500 of prizes in FREE draw. All welcome 

FUNDRAISER IN BALLINAFAD CHURCH

Concert event on Friday 15th November from 8pm to 10pm in Ballinafad Church. A drop in confidential space for parents and families to call in and receive support and a listening ear about issues and concerns about you and/or your children. BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT

Support for those grieving the loss of a loved one.  Tuesday’s for 6 weeks at 8pm in Boyle Family Resource Centre 0719663000.  Cost: €3/donation.

BOYLE FOOD PARTNERSHIP 

Community FEAD and Food Cloud. If you and/or your family need food, we distribute food through these programmes at Boyle Family Resource Centre (FRC).  Please text the word FOOD + your first name to 0860496467 to receive details.

WIDOW & WIDOWERS SUPPORT GROUP

Support for those grieving the death of their spouse. Thursday 14th November from 7.30pm-9pm and monthly thereafter in Boyle Family Resource Centre.  Cost: €3/Donation. No booking necessary.
SPANISH CLASS WITH LAURA 

Thursday’s at 11am in Boyle Family Resource Centre 0719663000.  Cost is €40 for 6 weeks. Booking essential. To register your interest for a lunch time class from 12.30pm-1.30pm please contact the Centre. 

MUSIC & ITALIAN WITH MARIE HANMORE CAWLEY

Share learning with people of all ages and abilities.  Learn new skills from the mix of Music and Italian. So, come along and learn with us every Wednesday’s morning from 10.30am-12.30pm in Boyle Family Resource Centre.  Cost: €3/donation.

BEGINNERS PILATES WITH OLIVER NEVIN

Beginners Pilates with Oliver Nevin There is no Beginners Pilates class on the 29th October. Resumes Tuesday 5th November at 10.30am in Boyle Family Resource Centre.  Cost: €10 per session or €50 for 6 sessions.

YOGA WITH LIZ DWYER

There is no Yoga on Wednesday 30th October. Resumes Wednesday 6th November from 11am-12pm in Boyle Family Resource Centre. Cost: €10 per session or €50 for 6 sessions.

BOYLE BREASTFEED SUPPORT 

A space where you and your baby will receive lots of support, a warm welcome & a cuppa!  Older siblings are very welcome to come along as are expectant mothers. Friday 29th November from 10am-11.30am.  Cost: €2 or donation.

ROSCOMMON SUICIDE BEREAVEMENT LIAISON SERVICE

Roscommon Suicide Bereavement Liaison Service is a free & confidential service that provides assistance & support to families & individuals grieving the death of a loved one by suicide.  Contact: Tiffany Jennings Walsh, Suicide Bereavement Liaison Officer on 0857407856 or Boyle Family Resource Centre (FRC) on 0719663000. This service is funded by the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention.    

BABY AND TODDLER GROUP

Baby & toddler groups can be a great way of meeting other people with children the same age as yours in our community.  It is open to childminders, grandparents and other guardians, babies, waddlers and toddlers are welcome. Every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10am–12.30pm in Boyle Family Resource Centre (FRC) 0719663000.  Cost: Donation. Bazz Art, Thursday 10th October 10am-11am sharp. Cost included in Baby & Toddler Group.

IRISH CLASSES

Classes with Mícheál Ó’Tuathaill  Complete Beginners Irish – Wednesday 7pm-8pm. Beginning Irish Again – Tuesday 7pm-8.30pm. Improvers Irish – Thursday’s 7pm-8.30pm. All classes are for 10 weeks.  Cost: €80. To book your place please contact Boyle Family Resource Centre on 0719663000.

Then why not call into the Úna Bhán office in the grounds of King House, Boyle, where we will be delighted to give you any help, advice or information we can. A good CV could make all the difference in getting your job application through to the interview stage. We have a template and sheet of helpful tips to guide you through the process. We will also type your CV if you cannot do this yourself. Or you may just want to call in for a chat about your CV. All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence. CLOTHING BANK 

There is a clothing bank outside Boyle Family Resource Centre which accepts old clothes and bed linen, handbags, and shoes that are sent for recycling. Your support and donations are very much appreciated as this helps raise funds towards the Centres programmes and community work. NO DUVETS AND PILLOWS AS THEY WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED BY THE RECYCLING COMPANY. Thank you.

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY

Counselling & Psychotherapy is for anybody.  Sometimes life can be difficult for us, it can be unmanageable and challenging. Counselling can be a great support or resource at times of crisis or difficulty in our lives.  It involves meeting with a trained Professional Therapist in a safe confidential setting allowing you to talk about and explore life’s challenges in a non-judgemental space. Appointments are available Monday to Friday, day and evening. Therapeutic Support for Families, Adolescents, Couples and Individuals. The cost is on a sliding scale and is negotiable.
