Boyle GAA news 13/1/14

Boyle Senior Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Saturday evening next 18th January at 5pm. All who are interested the ongoing development of Gaelic Games in the Parish are asked to attend. This includes all existing Club members, officials, players and managements. We are especially anxious to welcome those might not have been involved heretofore, but who have an interest in our activities. 2013 has been a very successful year for the Club and it is only with the support of everyone that we can progress further. Stepping down this year are; Club Chairman, Aidan Lavin who has been in the position six years now; dynamic Secretary, Kathleen Hanmore and Ass. P.R.O. Tony Conboy after large chunks of decades!
The County Board will unveil a plaque in the club rooms on Thursday Jan. the 23rd. This is to commemorate the founding of the GAA in County Roscommon at a meeting in Boyle on Jan. the 23rd 1889, so this is the 125th Anniversary of that event.
Plans are progressing for the Club’s Annual Presentation Dance which will be held in Kilronan Castle Hotel on Saturday night 8th of February. The Special Guest for the night has been confirmed. It is none other than St Brigids All-Ireland winning goalkeeper Shane Curran. Music on the night will be provided by the HeeBeeGeeBees. Tickets will be available from Club officers.
The Club wishes to thank Michael Brennan, Paul Beirne, Bernie Shannon and Damien Regan who completed the onerous task of painting the dressing room floors during the week.
Congratulations are extended to Club stalwart Kieran Supple and Vicky Walker on their engagement.
The Minor Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom at 5pm on Saturday 1st February.
The Ladies Club AGM will be held in the Clubroom on Sunday week 26th January at 5pm
