A presentation of €6000, raised from the Pure Mule cycling sportive in October 2015, was presented to representatives of Console on Wednesday night.
The event was organised by members of Carrick on Shannon Garda Siochana who made the presentation to Paul Kelly, CEO Console and Ann Lynch, Area Coordinator for Console in Sligo Leitrim.
Speakers on the night included Tom Dooner on behalf of the organising committee, Superintendent Kevin English, Ann Lynch and Paul Kelly.
Console is a national organisation supporting people in suicidal crisis and those bereaved by suicide through professional counselling, support and helpline services.
Their helpline, 1800 247 247, is manned 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
The organisers thank all the businesses who helped them make the first Pure Mule such a success. Special mention was made to the Leitrim Marina hotel for all their assistance.
No date is yet available for the 2016 Pure Mule 2 but it is sure to become an annual event on the cycling calendar.
