CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE AT TULLYBOY FARM

The atmosphere is buzzing with excitement. The pudding is being made, Santa’s bags are being packed and the Elves are eager to bring you through the ten stages of the Tullyboy Farm Christmas Experience. Parents and children can warm themselves with hot chocolate and marshmallows and mulled juices/mince pies in the Yuletide Kitchen where you can also help out with string the pudding and don’t forget to make your wish. Hear the story of Christmas in front of the big fire in the inglenook fireplace, then up the spiral staircase to Santa’s bedroom to see Santa’s old fashioned bed and the naughty elf. Visit the Christmas Experience at Tullyboy Farm until Saturday 23rd December.

WINTER SOLSTICE BAKE

Knockvicar Organic Garden are Winter Solstice Bake on Thursday 21st December from 9am until 4pm. Bring goodies and share using their wood-fired clay oven. Free Event. For any further details contact 0867 954 549

ST JOSEPH’S BNS CHRISTMAS DRAW

St. Joseph’s Boys National School Parents Association Monster Christmas Draw will take place on Thursday December 21st in the school. Proceeds from the draw will go towards ICT equipment for the school. Please support this worthy cause.

KING HOUSE TEA ROOMS

If you are living alone at Christmas then why not make your way to the King House Tea Rooms in the Grounds of King House, Boyle on Monday 25th December, were you can enjoy a FREE  Full Christmas Dinner. Booking is essential as there are only 40 seats available. Doors open at 1pm with dinner being served at 2pm. To book a seat call Dorothy on 087 643 0326.

CHRISTMAS DAY SWIM

The 14th annual Lough Arrow Christmas Day swim will take place at 1pm sharp at Brick Pier with registration from 12.30pm All proceeds will go to the North West Hospice. DJ and drinks on the day with all welcome to attend. A rugby jersey signed by Gordon Darcy will be raffled on the day.

FUN RUN & WALK

Lough Key Forest Park will be the venue for a 5k Fun Run and Walk for Children with Autism taking place on Wednesday 27th December at 2pm with registration taking place at 1.30. ST STEPHEN’S DAY TREASURE HUNT

The annual St Stephen’s Day Treasure Hunt in aid of Hospice will take place in Lough Key Forest & Activity Park on Tuesday 26th December at 2.30pm. Information sheets will be given out in Answer the park and completed sheets to be handed in at Clarke’s Bar & Restaurant, St Patrick’s Street, Boyle where winners will be announced.

WOMEN’S LITTLE CHRISTMAS

The 4th “Women’s Little Christmas ” Black Dress Ladies Lunch takes place on Sunday the 7th January 2018 in the beautiful setting of Kilronan Castle, Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon. Guest speaker on the day is the inspirational Nikki Bradley. MC on the day is Eileen Magnier who is a voluntary member of the Board of Directors of North West Simon Community. BOYLE PRIMARY CARE TO OPEN IN JANUARY

Senator Frank Feighan has received confirmation from the HSE that the new Boyle Primary Care Centre will open to the public for services on Tuesday, January 9th. “The delays regarding the HSE’s operational timelines  have been disappointing but I can categorically state that the state-of-the-art facility will now open on this date. “The day before the centre’s official opening, there will be an open day.

COURTYARD MARKET

The Market takes place every Saturday in the Grounds of King House, Boyle from 10am until 2pm…If you would like to enjoy the best locally grown fresh and organic produce, then a trip to the Courtyard Market should be on your agenda. There is a wide range of seasonal produce, Vegetarian hot meals to eat here or take home as well as organic fruit and vegetables, homemade jams and marmalade, organic free-range eggs, sour dough/ spelt bread and all kinds of delicious home bakes are available every week. Alongside the food stalls are a number of crafters selling their handmade wares. So why not come along and have a chat with the stall holders and avail of their ideas.
